Liza's Photo Album A new puppy is here ~ age 9 months and under
Here's Liza, in the middle with a blue eye, still with her littermates. Old English Sheepdogs are a herding breed and it was considered lucky to have a sheepdog with one blue eye and one brown one. This special blue eyed dog not only protected the sheep better but also kept the evil spirits away. Having two blue eyes, however, was not special and was sometimes considered as a defect.
This is my FAVORITE photo of Liza during her puppyhood. Isn't she cute? Here she is 5 months old.
She is starting to change her black fur to gray-blue. At birth Old English Sheepdogs are black and white and then their fur changes to gray-blue, gray and white. Liza was such an obedient little girl, she knew all the basics already. Later she learned how to sniff out stuff from identical little baggies, it was so cute. Here she is about 9 months old.
This photo was taken the same day and time as the one above, only here Liza is standing :o)
